5 Things to Do With the Kids in Downtown Roseville During Spring Breakin Information, Businesses, & Events
Spring break is here...finally! Now that the kids are home all week, plan your own little spring break staycation right here in Downtown Roseville. From art classes, to music, food, and shopping, there’s so much fun to be had for you and the kids. Check out a few of our favorite ideas.
1. Take an Art Class
Did you know Roseville has its very own art gallery right on Vernon Street? Take the kids to the Blue Line Arts and see what’s new, or sign them up for an art education class. They offer many options during spring break including camps that will take the kids on a cultural adventure, or teach them to paint and create their own journals. After you’re done, be sure to stop and grab some Gunther’s Ice Cream from Dash of Panache.
2. Visit the Library
From storytime to computer classes and more, the Downtown Public Library is a great place to take the little ones for some fun...and maybe even pick up a few books to read too. Then walk on over to Vernon Street Town Square or Royer Park for a picnic.
3. Dinner and a FREE Movie
Friday Night Flicks are back and kicking off on April 19th with the Incredibles 2! Grab your blankets and lawn chairs, and enjoy watching a movie under the stars...for free! The fun starts at 7:30 or sunset, whichever is later, giving you and your family time to grab some dinner at one of the many restaurants in Downtown. Be sure to try Nela’s, Monk’s Cellar, Ninja Sushi, The Place, or the new Goose Port Public House...all are family-friendly.
4. Shop ‘Til You Drop
Downtown Roseville is home to many locally-owned shops that we bet your kids will love too. There’s vintage clothing at Threads, albums and t-shirts from Hi-Tones Record Store, trains and more at Railroad Hobbies, and cool art and gifts from Sparrow 5...you’ll have lots of fun shopping on Vernon Street. Start your day a little early and grab something to drink and a treat at Fig Tree Coffee.
5. Learn To Play an Instrument
Yes, you can purchase a guitar or ukulele at The Strum Shop, but did you know you can also learn to play one there too? Use the time over spring break to check out the music classes The Strum Shop has to offer...they have something for all ages and skill levels.
