The Best Drinks for Dry (or Damp) January

Last Updated 1/11/2024in Information, Businesses, & Events

It’s that time of year when many alcohol lovers take on the month-long alcohol-free challenge called “Dry January”. However, a new trend called “Damp January” has emerged which is just as it sounds — simply cutting back on alcoholic drinks instead of eliminating them altogether. Whether you’re practicing Dry January, Damp January, or indulging in liquor, we’ve got the drink for you right here in Downtown Roseville!

FOR DRY JANUARY (ALCOHOL-FREE!)

These drinks reinforce the phrase, “No alcohol? No problem!”

A Latte from The Fig Tree Coffee – Their dreamy latte is a top seller and will help you kickstart a productive day. Pair it with their hand pies, which is another best-seller!

Root of Happiness Kava – Kava is alcohol-free but produces a similar sensation. A wonderful choice for those who want to stay true to the mission, but don’t mind a smooth little kick.

A Hot Tea from Shady Coffee and Tea – Tea is great for any time of day. And in this chilly weather, a hot tea will help make your day a lot toastier. They have a variety of black, green, white, and herbal teas to suit every taste.

Also, check out Shady’s new handmade mugs. We think they are among the most stylish and unique mugs we’ve ever seen!

FOR DAMP JANUARY

When you’re cutting back on alcohol (or not), you should only have the best!

Pure Imagination at Daniello's - This magical drink has been receiving some rave reviews by patrons. Playing along with the restaurant’s mysterious theme, the ever-changing cocktail is concocted with a bartender’s choice of ingredients, but always delicious.

Also, do not miss their Caymus Steak and Lobster Wine Dinner (happening on January 24th) featuring fine wines from Caymus Vineyards!

Vernon Street Lager from The Monk’s Cellar - It’s no surprise that Downtown Roseville’s beloved award-winning brewery has a craft beer named after our main thoroughfare and its own address. Vernon Street Lager is light and easy, perfect for drinking during the earlier hours of the day. Did you know that 2024 is Monk’s big 10-year anniversary? We are expecting a huge celebration this coming October.
